11 Stunning Paintings By The 2017 Graduates of Helwan University's Fine Arts Faculty in Zamalek

The graduating class is off to a great start in the world of arts.

Situated in the heart of the island of Zamalek is Egypt's oldest fine arts faculty, which is administered by Helwan University. The prestigious school was established in 1908, two years before it was incorporated into the Egyptian National University (which later became Cairo University). It has seen its campus getting relocated to different areas in Cairo before the inauguration of its current campus in Zamalek in 1935 in the early days of King Farouk's rule.

Ever since its establishment, the schools' graduates brought forth iconic artistic projects in different fields; massively contributing to the flourishing arts scene in Egypt throughout the 20th century.

Today, the faculty's 2017 graduating class proves that, despite all the bureaucracy and the rapid deterioration of higher education in Egypt, the flame of fine arts still burns high in the heart of Zamalek; producing generations upon generations of great artists in different realms of artistic expressions.
