Well, good news: the Contemporary Image Collective (CIC), an independent non-profit art initiative founded in Cairo, is fully equipped and available to rent for any interested parties looking for a digital lab, analogue lab, lighting studio, library and multipurpose rooms.

Launched in 2004, the CIC has a unique equipped public darkrooms complete with trays, tanks, film dryer, light box, drying racks, and enlargers from half frame to 13 x 18cm. Aside from providing everything you need in a dark room, the CIC also has a digital lab facility that comes equipped with Epson Stylus Pro 9900 printer, Epson Perfection V700 PHOTO/V750 PRO scanner and a variety of quality ink and papers. The welcoming space for both professional and amateur also has lighting studio that has 3 Hensel Professional Pro 500 with Flash lights.

The long list of hard to find equipment makes the CIC a very important space and an absolute asset for anyone with a passion for photography. Whether you are a seasoned veteran, or just a beginner, the CIC has the resources and media education programmes to turn passion into a career.
