The Twittersphere went ablaze yesterday, as thousands of Muslim women took to social media to respond to Donald Trump's statements and support Ghazala Khan through the hashtag #CanYouHearUsNow.

The Twitter landscape exploded with the viral hashtag #CanYouHearUsNow yesterday, as thousands of Muslim woman took the mic to tell Donald Trump who they are, in response to the candidate’s bigoted remarks that Ghazala Khan kept silent because “she wasn’t allowed to speak.”

In yet another display of Trump’s uncanny ability to spark outrage, the US Republican candidate took on Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the parents of a fallen soldier in Iraq, who spoke at the Democratic National Convention and defied Trump, asking him if he had ever read the Constitution.

The initiative was sparked by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, who called on Muslim women to “tweet about who they are and how they speak out,” triggering a wave of badass (s)heroes tweeting their responses and speaking out against bigotry and racism.
