Cairo Ranked As One of The Least Reputable Cities Worldwide
Almost 20,000 people were surveyed in order to rank 101 cities by their global reputation, and Cairo did not perform very well.

The Reputation Institute just released the results of its study ranking 101 of the world’s cities and placed Cairo at #95.
The study asked more than 19,000 citizens from France, Germany, Italy, UK, Japan, U.S., Canada, and Russia to rate cities according to their levels of trust, esteem, admiration, and respect.
The list was topped by Sydney and Melbourne, Australia in first and second places respectively. The rest of the top ten was dominated by European cities with an appearance by Vancouver, Canada at #5.
The bottom 10 consisted of several cities in South America as well as Kiev, Ukraine (#94), and Tel Aviv (#92) alongside Cairo. Baghdad was labeled as the least reputable with Tehran, Moscow, and Nairobi following (or is it leading?).
Before Cairenes take too much of this information to heart however, there is one rather large caveat. Fernando Prado, the managing partner at the Reputation Institute, while discussing New York City’s lower than expected rating (#31) confessed that the list would be different if it were based solely on “rational attributes”.
If it weren’t for the “negative emotional halo” that hangs over NYC and the rest of the U.S.A., New York easily would have made it into the top 10. Makes one think, where would Cairo be on a “rational” reputation list.
