Please Sir Can I Have Some Gas?

Our very own president Morsi has taken Egypt from a Middle Eastern powerhouse to the state equivalent of Oliver Twist. Anyone with the ability to add up simple figures is aware that Egypt is actually bankrupt and currently living on the hand-outs of others. This point was driven home further over the weekend when Qatar announced it would be providing Egypt with five shipments of gas to cover the shortfall in the energy production this summer. This is not some credit deal; the Qataris literally referred to it as a gift. So not only is Egypt drowning in debt, but we’re officially a charity case now.
