Rosatom, a Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation, will begin training 2,000 Egyptian technicians to prepare them for the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, said Rosatom Vice President Sosnin Gregory on Friday.

The first batch of subcontractors will be announced by the end of 2018 by Rosatom; the selected batches will be signing their initial contracts in the first quarter of 2019.

El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant will be the first of its kind in Egypt, and its timeline is set to completion by 2026. The 4,800-megawatt nuclear power plant will be located in Matrouh governorate.
