A Massive EGP 100 Billion Construction Project to Take Place in North Sinai

Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced earlier on Saturday that a new construction project is set to commence in the North Sinai governorate over the course of the next two to three years, with a budget of EGP 100 billion ($US 5.60 billion).

The president, during the inauguration ceremony of development projects in Suez, emphasized that the project will continue to see progress regardless of whether or not a new president replaces him in the coming presidential elections set to take place in April of next year. Details pertaining to funding or dates have not been expressly divulged as of yet.

“The Armed Forces will combat terrorists violently and will put an end to terrorism, and protecting the state’s territory deserves everyone to sacrifice,” El-Sisi added, further saying that the Ministry of Housing as well as the military-affiliated engineering authority were given authorisation to execute the project in North Sinai.
