Disney Live! Shows Are Making a Comeback to Egypt

After a long break, our favourite Disney characters are once again hitting the stage.

Disney Live! shows are finally making a comeback to Egypt after a long five-year hiatus, according to an announcement made in a press conference held by the Minister of Tourism Rania Mashat on Tuesday.

The press conference was held under the shared patronage of the Ministries of Tourism, Investment and International Cooperation. Guests of honour included Stephen Armstrong, the regional Vice President for Feld Entertainment in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as Mohammed Amer, the Chairman and CEO of the organizing company in Egypt.

Tickets for the show will be on sale for EGP 120 ($US 7) a pop by September 1st through the company’s website, with 23 Disney Live shows planned for Egypt. Among the shows that will be features are renditions of hit Disney movies the likes of Tangled, Aladdin as well as Toy story.

 

Armstrong communicated the company's willingness to have business relations with Egypt with more offers to come. “We are thrilled to be back in Egypt for the second time after the successful first show in 2014 and the show will bring more surprises to all Disney fans, both young and old,” Armstrong said.

The comeback of Disney's live shows is indicative of the country’s stability and security, offering up a massive boon to local tourism, as well as providing a wealth of job opportunities.

Mashat added that “As Disney is a global brand known to almost all age groups in large and small countries, bringing it to Egypt will show that Egyptian people are open to different cultures thus paving the way for partnership and cooperation around the world.”

The minister elaborated that recreational activities, festivals and hosting known entertainment icons is also in the works.
