Egyptian Barber Threatens to Blow Up Metro Station Using Weight Loss Belt

In one new case to go in Egypt's cuckoo chronicles, yesterday the Ministry of Interior issued a statement saying that a 38-year-old man who works as a barber stormed the Dar El-Salam metro station in Cairo. He claimed to be wearing an explosive vest and threatened to blow the place up.

When arrested and interrogated, the man confessed that what he had wrapped around his waist wasn't a bomb, but rather a weight-loss belt, reports Aswat Masriya.

The man also confessed that his intentions in doing so stemmed from his suffering of psychological trauma, which was evidenced by the small handbag the police found on him that contained a number of prescribed psychiatric drugs, according to the ministry's statement.
