Egyptian Police Arrests Video Crew for Staging a Fake Video of Aleppo in Port Said

According to a video post by the Interior Ministry of Egypt on Facebook, five people will be facing court for filming disturbing footage of a little girl covered in blood, and claiming it to be the aftermath of recent bombings in Aleppo. The 'fake' video was shot on a demolition site in Port Said, with the crew planning to spread the footage through social media.

The young girl, her mother, and the videographer were filmed confessing to making a fake video, claiming they were attempting to “support the children of Aleppo” by showing social media a glimpse of what they have to go through. When asked what logic was behind the idea, the videographer responded with, “I don’t know.”The videographer remains in police custody, while the other four assistants have been released on bail.
