New Integrated Fishing Port is Being Built in Beheira

A new integrated fishing port is being built on the Mediterranean coast of Rosetta city in the governorate of Beheira at the cost of EG 600 million.

The harbour will be home to a quay with a capacity of 60 fishing boats per hour, while another will be dedicated to maintenance, fully equipped with a 2,000 tonnes capacity tugboat.

The port itself will include three factories; ice making, fishing net production and fish processing and freezing, in addition to storehouses for fishing equipment.

The port is expected to create 5,000 jobs and will comprise an engineering department, customs office, wholesale and retail markets, warehouses, bunkering station, break areas for workers, and various administrative services.
