Revealed: George Clooney's Wedding Plans

Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney is set to wed Lebanese beauty Amal Alamuddin at a star-studded ceremony in Venice within weeks.

The news comes after Clooney scooped the Humanitarian Award during the couple's first black tie appearance at the Celebrity Fight Night event in Tuscany, Italy.

He told the crowd: "I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places." 

The 53-year-old star revealed that the pair are set to tie the knot at a top secret venue in the uber-romantic Italian city towards the end of the month.

Meanwhile it also emerged that the couple plan to write their own wedding vows.

A source said: "This is not going to be a huge Hollywood wedding with Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock flying in to Italy for a week...

"They want the wedding to be intimate with quiet but happy and fun dinners and lunches after they've said short but meaningful, hand-written vows in front of their loved ones."

Clooney and the 36-year-old beauty - who got engaged in April - were initially rumored to be getting hitched at the his villa in Lake Como, Italy, but it is believed they scrapped the plans over privacy concerns.
