The Annual Fashion Brunch Spotlighting Cairo's Hottest Designers is Back

There are two things we can’t seem to get enough of lately (and for good reason); brunching and shopping. Luckily for us, Fashion Funds founded by socialite Heba Serag ElDin is throwing one hell of a brunch that brings us both fashion and a fun weekend at the Nile-front haven that is Sass on November 9th.

The fifth edition of the fashion brunch concept, Winter Equinox will see a mix of emerging local designers as well as already established ones. And we’re promised some exciting entertainment by one of the event’s sponsors, Iram Jewellery, who’ll be setting up a photo booth where we get to try on gorgeous pieces from their latest collection, Siran, which is a ready-to-wear affordable collection. So you know we’ll be brunching like the princesses that we are. The second sponsor for the brunch is none other than the elegant and fashionable, BTC watches. “We try mixing between up and coming local designers and already established brands so that these emerging designers can get the advantage of having the traffic that comes in from the already established ones,” says Serag ElDin. “We pick the collections based on the quality, presentation and branding. There also has to be a certain kind of harmony between the different designers.”

Showcasing quite a few brands this year including Bazic, Hype, Boutique 17, Avalanche and many more,  the designers at the brunch will be showcasing both clothing as well as accessories. 15% of the proceedings will be going to a cause. Over the years, part of the proceedings from the brunch were donated to several causes with last year's going to a transplant case. 

“Last year, we selected a specific case because you get to see the progress. We followed up with it and we'd like to donate to a specific case this year as well,” explains Serag El Din. 

That's not all though, Winter Equinox has yet another surprise prepared for us. Zayan Designs will be revealing their first ever pyramid bag to be auctioned off at the brunch with all the proceedings going to charity. 

The brunch, which starts at 12:00 PM, will also have a cool installation set up by the fashionable Maison 69 concept store. Taking place at Sass, the elegant affair will also be introducing the restaurant's new brunch menu. Sass has even flown in bartenders from Brazil and promises us quite some entertainment.
