The Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation is looking into opening a new branch of the Aswan Heart Center in the New Administrative Capital, according to Chairman of the Executive Board of Aswan Heart Center (AHC) professor Magdi Yacoub.

The Aswan Heart Center was launched in 2009 in Aswan, with the goal of combating heart disease in Egypt. It was started by Sir Yacoub, and its center includes state of the art facilities, resources, research and scientific methods to provide heart patients, especially the underprivileged with the highest standards of care available.

If given the green light, the project would be part of the New Administrative Capital’s integrated medical city, which according to the Health Ministry will be of the highest quality possible, including three hospitals, an institute for nursing, and a training center for doctors.
