Egyptian Paralympian Takes Home Gold at the World Para Powerlifting World Cup

Having previously broken Paralympic world record for powerlifting, Randa Mahmoud strikes gold yet again.

Egyptian Paralympic athlete, Randa Mahmoud, has won the gold metal in the women’s over 86 KG category of the World Para Powerlifitng World Cup, which this year was held in Dubai.

Coming in first place to her Nigerian and Mexican rivals, Mahmoud had previously won the silver medal in Beijing in 2008, London in 2012 and had made it to the top of the Paralympic podium in Rio De Janeiro in 2016, giving Egypt its second medal in the Rio Paralympics. 

Taking home three gold medals out of the four world championships she'd competed in with Mexico being the most recent in 2017, the 31-year-old Egyptian champion also broke the world record of Nigerian Paralympic champion Loveline Obiji in 2014 at the IPC powerlifting world championship in Dubai.
