Leicester City are closing in on Egyptian international Mahmoud Trezeguet, according to Turkish publication Milliyet.

This seems to be a done deal, according to Egyptian journalist Ahmed Essam Ibrahim, who spoke to the Turkish newspaper, claiming that “Trezeguet will be transferred to Leicester City." Kasimpasa Vice President Hasan Hilmi Oksuz also stated that they are in talks with foreign clubs about selling him.

This would be a great move for the young Egyptian international, making the switch from the Süper Lig to the Premier League, which is often considered the most competitive league in the world.

It seems like quite a strange transfer though; Mahmoud only joined Kasimpasa permanently last month in a €2 million move, after a season on loan from Belgian giants Anderlecht. However, should Trezeguet be open to a move, a club could pay €5 million and activate his release clause, and that would be enough to sign the player.

Trezeguet’s stellar performances in the Süper Lig this season, scoring 13 goals and assisting 7, also reportedly got Turkish champions Galatasaray interested in the pacey winger.

Should Trezeguet join Leicester City, he would join fellow Egyptian internationals Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Ramadan Sobhi (Stoke City), Mohamed El Neny (Arsenal), Ahmed Hegazy (West Bromwich Albion) and Ali Gabr (West Bromwich Albion) in the Premier League.
