13 Awesome Places to Eat in Sahel This Summer

Whether you're after something fast and filling between parties, a decadent meal on the sea front or some good, old fashion Egyptian treasures, there's no shortage of dining destinations on the North Coast.

Staff Writer

With Ramadan coming to an end, everyone is probably relaxing at the beach in Sahel (while we're here writing this for you, you better be grateful). After a month of fasting and restraint, it's time to fill your belly with everything you've missed - and let's face it, everything tastes better on the sea...

Mori Sushi

You will no longer crave Sushi because they have four branches on the North Coast this year: Marrassi, Diplo, Platform, and Hacienda Bay. And when you're between daytime frolics on the beach and hardcore partying at night, there's nothing like sushi for a light meal that still keeps you satisfied.

The Smokery

The Marassi branch of the Cairo gourmet staple was so popular last summer it was nearly impossible to get a table. Find out what all the fuss is about by reserving a spot then drooling over over fresh seafood and steaks, fine wines and a gorgeous view.

La Bodega

Eat, drink, and PARTAY!!! La Bodega offers Italian cuisine a wide selection of drinks, and DJs to keep you bouncing through the night. Having been absent from the Cairo circuit for sometime now, go rekindle your love.

Kazouza

Have you found Kazouza to be your sanctuary for elevated street food? Well, just wait til you get a look at their food truck which will be parked at Lakeyard all summer long, serving up perfect Egyptian bites.

Mince Burger

Juicy, massive, cheesy, and mouth-watering... There's nothing in the world as satisfying as a good burger after exerting all that energy cavorting on the beach. In three locations this year, you'll find Mince at Hacienda, Hacienda Bay and Marassi.

Café Blanc

Lebanese food, shisha, sunsets and Marassi. What more do you want? Cafe Blanc's floating restaurant also serves some seriously smooth shisha, between it's technicolour tables and chairs.

Bob’s Hot Dogs

When it comes to hot dogs, there is nothing like Bob’s, pumped with mayo, mustard, ketchup, onions, cheese, crispy bits, more cheese, relish, pickles... We could literally go on forever. Find them in two locations in Marassi and one in Hacienda Bay.

Tutti Matti

Tutti Matti heads to Marassi with Italian pizza, Italian pastas and Italian men this summer. Only two of the aforementioned things are true. Either way, it's delicious.

Mistiqa

Tired of your parents complaining about how the food back home is better? Head to the newly opened Mistiqa, from the brains behind Tabla and Gu Bar, for a true Egyptian meal. The venue is an oasis for the hungry and restless propped comfortably on the highway between Amwaj and Blumar in Sahel.

Kozbara Kitchen

Because it is the most wonderful time of the year  Kozbara Kitchen has moved from offering only a catering service to a physical restaurant this Summer in Sahel, taking over Diplo 3 with their home-made comfort food.

De3bes

Newly-opened De3bes promises an authentic, tacky-in-a-cool way atmosphere complete with floral plastic table clothes, a fool cart, zalabya and opens all the way til 6AM for after-the-party munchies.

Kyriakos Greek Kitchen

Another newcomer on the scene is Kyriakos and their mustachioed mascot. Setting up shop at Lakeyard at Hacienda Bay, they promise a taste of the Greek Isles in a casual setting.

Andrea

Last but not least, a staple on the Sahel scene for years, where charcoal grills have quite literally never tasted so good. Head to the original Andrea near El Hammam, or the Hacienda Bay incarnation.
