You know your business is smoking hot when in less than five years you manage to open not one successful branch, but five. Enjoying this success is none other than one of Egypt's largest fine-casual-dining chain The Smokery. And to celebrate the launch of their 5th branch in Heliopolis, we decided to head to their jam-packed opening to see Heliopolis' newest hotspot.

It's incredible to think that it was only back in 2012 that the Smokery opened their doors in Kattameyya. Since then, the delicious fine eatery has been spreading across Egypt faster than an extended family on Eid break. From El Gouna and now to Heliopolis, this one-of-a-kind restaurant has been attracting a devoted following hungering for salmon towers and colourful cocktails. This is why it came as no surprise that their Heliopolis opening was packed with hundreds in attendance to celebrate the launch but more importantly to devour as much sushi and shrimp tempura as possible. As always, The Smokery's food was a total crowd-pleaser, but even more pleasing was the open, well-stocked bar that provided us with everything from Long Islands and Mojitos to Sambuca shots to keep the party going late into the night.

Coming as a surprise to all in attendance and marking the perfect way to celebrate, The Smokery lit the night with a firework display that colourfully captured the importance of their latest milestone. With adrenaline pumping from the fireworks, tummies distended from the ridiculous amount of sushi we had and the healthy helping of dance-inducing drinks, we had a night of sensory pleasures we won't soon forget. You may have missed the party, but with The Smokery's doors officially open (even during Ramadan!), it's safe to say that everyone now has one more exciting and delicious reason to head to Heliopolis this year.
