In a chance encounter, Egyptian artist, Emad Ibrahim, came by a girl picking oranges, while crying, seemingly out of frustration. WHile the backdrop is nothing short of picturesque, it's this pain that inspired Ibrahim to pose the questions, "how many other orange girls are out there? How would defiance in these situations fair?" It's these questions that are the base for his latest exhibition, as he juxtaposes the beautiful Egyptian countryside, to the hidden pains and stories of the subjects. The Orange Girl is showing in Venue I at Zamalek Art Gallery.
