For those with more of a practical and minimalistic style, Glamour 'nd Bloom's got you covered.
Ever find something in a rack you think is cute from the side then pull it out only to find that some funky design ruins it? Same. For those with more of a practical and minimalistic style, looking for the right bag in Cairo is a lot harder than it should be. Thankfully, handbag designer Sara Nofal gets us.
Nofal’s brand, Glamour’nd Bloom, combines simplicity and practicality in her trendy designs. Nofal, a practical working gal herself, is actually a dentist. The idea to design and sell handbags also came from a place of seeking utility.
In an interview with Cairoscene, she explained how she wanted to find a way to get a little extra income as her salary as a dentist wasn’t enough to support herself.
“I wanted to do something that would get me an independent income that wouldn’t take up too much of my time,” she explains, “I just wanted to do something new to break out of my clinic routine.”
Nofal started designing the bags she wanted to have herself, sent the designs to a factory, and found immediate success upon launching last December. She had originally picked bags because they seemed simple enough to make as no sizing is involved, for instance, as well as the lack of bags on the market with simple yet trendy designs. She never considered working as a creator before, however throughout the process discovered that she had a knack for creating from scratch.
“It went very well; it was completely unexpected actually. When I reached one thousand followers I wanted to throw a party”Her brand has reached considerable success now, which can be credited to her uniquely devoted approach her managing her business. Nofal works alone without an assistant, designing and dealing with customers all on her own. Whenever there’s a complaint, she’s the one the customers go through and she’s the one that solves it. Her hands on dealings with her customers has developed an especially personal customer-seller relationship, which is something we all wish we had more of. Her customers know they can trust her and can always get their satisfaction guaranteed.
So, let’s cut to the chase- these bags must cost your first born child, right? WRONG. Her designs range from only 250-400 le. Yes. You read that right.
After her success, Nofal has found that designing for her is not just a source of income, but a source of happiness.
