Gamers of Egypt: get your thumbs for the epic showdown that you have been training for your whole life. Starting on August 18th to the 20th, a variety of venues will be hosting a no hold bars tournament to crown Egypt’s best gamers. If you reckon you are a FIFA boss, A League of Legends champion, a ruthless Mortal Kombat X killer, or a Dota 2 tactician, than you should enter for your chance to win some very big prizes and potentially representing Egypt in International competition.

Egypt’s Games Week kicks off its tournaments at 11am at the Intercontinental Cairo located in CityStars on August 18th. If you have the fiercest set of fatalities and killer combos in Om el Donia, than consider entering the PS4 Mortal Kombat X tournament. If you manage to slay all of Cairo’s opponents, then you will win a cash prize of $1000 and a trip to showcase your dominance at the Power League Gaming Season 2 Regional finals in Dubai this autumn.

If gruesome virtual murder isn’t your, thing don’t fret. At the same time, a PS4 FIFA 15 tournament will be held looking to crown Egypt’s football thumb king. The top 16 players will each win a brand new PS4, with the champion and runner-up getting a trip to represent Egypt at the Super League Season 2 in Dubai.

Prefer PC gaming to the PlayStation? Playing on team than on your own? Well, you are in luck! Starting at the same time as the other tournaments, a League of Legends showdown will also be taking place with an impressive prize pool of 34,000LE up for grabs and a secured spot in the regional online tournament.. If you think you can assemble the team to win the pot, then booking those days off is a must.

As a special bonus tournament which will begin on the 20th of August, a Dota 2 tournament, as part of the Nvidia Geforce Cup, will be held to declare Egypt’s best team. With a pot of 23,500LE this is your chance to prove to your family that all that time in front of the computer wasn’t a waste but rather an investment. As part of the promotion Nvidia will set up a demo area that will give Egyptians the chance to try NVidia’s Oculus Rift VR Headset.

Pre-registered players on Power League Gaming (PLG), who are competing in qualification and seeding tournaments will pay 50LE to EGYPT GAMES WEEK and get a friend in completely free courtesy of PLG. Those intending on competing will only have to pay the fee once to access all the tournaments and events. If you haven’t pre-registered, not all is lost as their will be tickets to purchase at the door.

Everyone who games, brags. However few truly prove their greatness. Don’t miss your opportunity to silence your friends and warrant trash talking for a year.
