Atlantis Dubai Receives ‘Certified Autism Center’ Designation

Atlantis Dubai has earned the Certified Autism Center (CAC) designation from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), making it the first resort in the Middle East, and the entire Eastern Hemisphere, to receive the certificate. The designation has been awarded to the entirety of Atlantis Dubai, which includes Atlantis, The Palm, and Atlantis The Royal, signifying the resort’s dedication to providing an accessible and inclusive environment for all guests.

The designation ensures that at least 80% (the IBCCES minimum requirement) of resort employees are trained in Autism and Sensory Awareness (ASA), and are fully equipped to provide service to people on the autism spectrum. At Atlantis, more than 90% of guest-facing staff undertook ASA training.

Atlantis Dubai’s website also features an accessibility tab with downloadable sensory guides, providing a rating for rooms and restaurants at Atlantis, The Palm and Atlantis The Royal that allows people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to pre-plan their visit. The resort has also allocated quiet zones throughout the resort, from the concierge lounge to outdoor cabanas.

During World Autism Month this coming April, Atlantis Dubai has invited people with ASD to enjoy complimentary access to the Aquaventure Waterpark and The Lost Chambers Aquarium. Free tickets are awarded in pairs, provided for the person with ASD and a caregiver, with a further 50% discount for two accompanying guests.
