Bikya Return at Cairo Jazz Club

Bikya is a band made for the live experience, for an audience to find themselves mesmerised in an amalgamation of styles, familiar in element but all together new when heard in unison. Comprised of 100 Copies founder Mahmoud Refaat, Maurice Louca and Mahmoud Waly, Bikya's sound fuses electronica with acoustic elements and will seamlessly thrash out a drum n' bass beat with Arabian drone and an arpeggiated synth all in the space of a track. After being on a short hiatus following the release of their seminal self-titled album two years ago, the trio are back in the studio working on a new album and will be performing some fresh material at Cairo Jazz Club on Tuesday 16th September. They'll also be joined by the Egyptronica beats of Machine Eat Man, conducting post-rock madness with analog and digital synthesizers live.
