A Call Out For Cinema Lovers

Calling all film lovers: the Network of Arab Arthouse Screens and Cimatheque, in collaboration with ArteEast, will be having an open call for those wishing to participate in the second edition of the regional Arab Arthouse Cinema Workshop.

For five days starting from the 4th June, the Arab Arthouse Cinema Workshop will give participants the opportunity to attend, sessions, presentations, case studies, panels, and roundtable discussion featuring a variety of regional and international guests.

The focus for this year’s workshop will be to understand the process by which films are circulated and distributed regionally and internationally as well as alternative film programming strategies focusing on Arab film specifically. At the same time, models and projects of film spaces globally will be explored encouraging participants to collaborate on future projects among participating spaces.

In order to ensure that all involved are experienced, applicants must have been involved in developing content for one or more film space in the Arab region. Applicants must also demonstrate an intention to develop a practice around alternative cinema, and must be fluent in Arabic, English or French.

Anyone interested should apply before the 20th February 2015. Those accepted will be notified on March 20th, and will be asked to pay a $75 fee that will cover travel and accommodations.
