Cairo Scene

The inaugural edition of the Alexandria Festival of Francophone Cinema will take place on the glimmering shores of Alexandria between September 11th and September 16th. Dedicated exclusively to Francophone cinema, the festival is the first of its kind in the region with around 50 films representative of various francophone countries. Tunisia is the country of honour, with the festival featuring several films directed by Tunisian filmmakers.

The festival will award prizes for best film, best actor, best actress and best achievement in two categories: feature and short film. The festival will also showcase a number of the featured films across various commercial theatres across Alexandria, such as Green Plaza Complex, and other cultural venues, such as Freedom Centre for Creativity and the French Institute.
