British film ‘See It Say It’, starring Egyptian actor Amir El-Masry, has been selected to compete at South By Southwest Film Festival (SXSW), where it will also make its world premiere. The 31st edition of the festival will be held from March 8th to the 16th in Austin, Texas.
Directed and written by Nez Khammal, who worked on music videos for Bruno Mars, Kid Cudi and Mika, the film follows the story of a London-based Arab actor as he struggles to make it to the spotlight. The story unfurls when he tries to audition for a career-changing role - however, tensions arise when the actor takes an unexpected turn and descends into a Kafkaesque nightmare. The cast also includes renowned British actresses July Namir and Madeleine Bowyer.
Following the critical acclaim and success of ‘Limbo’ in 2020, El-Masry has been a rising force in the global cinema industry. His last cinematic showing, ‘In Camera’, participated in the BFI London Film Festival in 2023.
