Bibliotheca Alexandrina Publishes Their First Arabic Children's Book

The book hopes to shed light on the importance of sunken cultural heritage, and the need to preserve the underwater cities found along Egypt’s Mediterranean coastline.

Titled ‘The Adventures of a Sailor and a Star of the Seas’, the book is crafted by an all-Egyptian team consisting of writer Jihan Nabil Zaki, and illustrators Osama Ali and Hadeer Dahab.

It is the first children's story published by Bibliotheca Alexandrina on this subject, and hopes to shed light on the importance of sunken cultural heritage, and the need to preserve the underwater cities found along Egypt’s Mediterranean coastline.

The book was created in cooperation with Alexandria University, the Marianna V. Vardinoyannis Foundation, and the UNESCO Chair for Underwater Cultural Heritage.
