Cairo’s Historic Cinema Dunia Karim Reopens

After seven years of closure, downtown Cairo’s Cinema Dunia Karim reopened last week boasting impressive technical and decorative upgrades, as it becomes part of New Century Cinemas. Now with two screens and 600 seats, the retro cinema which your parents definitely remember has also been equipped with 3-D capabilities, and top of the line surround sound system. 

Ahmed Badawy, General Manager of New Century, has expressed the importance of the relaunch of Cinema Dunia Karim, pointing to its cultural and historical significance, as well as its location, as a step towards reinvigorating downtown Cairo.
