Captain America has always been kind of the goody two-shoes of the Avengers universe. His man-from-a-simpler-time-out-of-place-in-our-modern-morally-bankrupt-society schtick might be getting him into a little bit of trouble in the new trailer.
After the events of Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron, the world seems a little weary of super-powered weirdos smashing everything up with no supervision or accountability. Some even see heroes like Cap as 'vigilantes'. That, coupled with “the man’s” efforts to bring down Mr. Rogers’ old pal Bucky - who may or may not be guilty of mass murder (mind control is tricky to prosecute) - leads Cap to go rogue.
Just like in the epic comic event, this move has 'consequences'; namely, Iron Man being brought in to bring Captain America & co. to heel. The trailer is the Marvel cinematic universe's debut of Black Panther, too, which is pretty sweet, if a little out of place. Not seen is the new Peter Parker, who is being recast for what is now the third time.
Check out the trailer below for all the dramatic tension and also some sweet footage of Cap and the Winter Soldier laying the beatdown on Tony Stark.
Captain America: Civil War is set to release on May 6, 2016.
