Coloured Version of 'Madraset el-Moshaghbeen' to Stream on Shahid VIP

This Eid al-Fitr, Shahid VIP will stream a colourised version of Egypt's most iconic comedy play for the first time.

There are two things always present in an Egyptian household; one half of a lemon in the fridge, and a plethora of afashat from our most iconic theatre productions. One such stage show could be considered the granddaddy of them all: Madraset el-Moshaghbeen. Constantly making the rounds on our national television channels since 1973, this play has become a staple for all living generations of Egyptians. After all, who could resist watching Adel Emam, Ahmed Zaki and other Golden Age stars mess about as high school delinquents?

The last time people would have been able to see the play in colour would have been 47 years ago, when you were able to watch it live. But this Eid al-Fitr, we’re about to get a rare treat. Shahid VIP will stream a colourised version of the play for the first time. Forget new Eid clothes, we’ll be sitting down with our kahk and shay b laban to finish our homework from Madraset El Moshaghbeen - fein el so2al?
