Egypt's Academy of Art to Open New Branch in El-Shorouk City

The new campus will include faculties for music, theatre, ballet and cinema.

The Academy of Arts will soon open a new branch in the suburbs of El-Sherouk city, located in the outskirts of Cairo.

The new campus will include the Higher Institute of Music, the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts, the Higher Institute of Ballet, and the Higher Institute of Cinema.

The Academy of Arts was first established in the 1950s, bringing a number of pre-existing institutions under its umbrella and setting itself up as a foremost authority of culture in Cairo. Back in 2019, the Ministry of Culture announced a new branch of the Academy of Arts in Alexandria which includes music, theatre, and ballet faculties, as well as all the educational facilities in Princess Faiqa Ahmed Fouad Palace.
