Egyptian-Italian actor Fabio Abraham will be playing late Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser in an all-new CNN docu-drama ‘Jerusalem’, which will be centred around the history of the ancient city. Abdel Nasser was one of the most influential modern figures in the conflicts around Jerusalem during his time in office.

Abraham’s last appearance in a film was at Disney’s live action adaptation of ‘Aladdin’ starring Mena Massoud, where the actor performed a voice over for most of its Arabic-speaking characters. In 2015, Joe Bol Exquisite magazine named Abraham ‘actor of the year’; Abraham was previously honoured at the 10th edition of the Casablanca Film Festival in 2015, where he was nominated for two films including ‘The Truth Is’ and ‘Mia Changed’.

Since those nominations, the actor completed four short films in London and has received a steady influx of offers from the United Kingdom. The docu-drama will be a six-part series spanning from biblical times all the way to modern history, and is anticipated to be released in 2021.
