Free Entry Into Egyptian Museums for International Museum Day

May 18th is International Museum Day, and once again Egypt has decided to graciously grant free entry to all visitors to celebrate the occasion.

Whether you know it or not, May 18th marks International Museum Day, and to celebrate Egypt will be granting free entry for all locals and visitors.

According to a statement made by head of the Antiquities Ministry's museums sector, Elham Salah, museums across om el donia will be opening their doors and offering free entry to all visitors. Giving a free pass to museums is not new, as Egypt traditionally offers free entry on internationally recognised cultural and heritage days.

The hope is that offering free entry will encourage more Egyptians to take the time to appreciate their impressive and historic culture.
