Global Movement ‘Liter of Lite’ Comes to Egypt's 'Forever is Now II'

‘Liter of Light’ is a grassroots movement built with the goal of fighting climate change on a communal level. To spotlight its cause, the global initiative will seek to draw the world’s attention with a giant sustainable art installation - created with the help of UNESCO artisans - at the foot of the Great Pyramids of Giza. ‘Liter of Light’ will set up their installation as part of Art D’Egypte’s highly-anticipated exhibition, ‘Forever is Now II’, from October 27th to November 30th.

The organization works to provide affordable and sustainable ways through which marginalized communities in underdeveloped areas all around the world can have sustainable solar light all year round. With a particular focus on areas with limited or no access to power, the organization regularly sends out volunteers to teach people in villages and other communities how to use plastic bottles and other locally-sourced upcycled materials to make their own sustainable solar light sources for their homes and streets. Since its inception, ‘Liter of Light’, has installed over 350,000 upcycled plastic bottle lights in over 15 countries.
