Hakawy Int'l Arts Festival for Children Begins November 2nd

The festival will take place in Cairo, Alexandria and Minya between November 2nd and November 9th, bringing in educational and entertaining children's acts from around the globe.

The 11th edition of the Hakawy International Arts Festival for Children will begin on November 2nd, taking place across three Egyptian governorates.

The festival will be hosted in Cairo’s Tahrir Cultural Center between November 2nd and November 6th, as well as in Alexandria’s French Institute on November 2nd. It will be wrapped up in Minya on November 8th and November 9th at the Jesuit Cultural Center. The Hakawy International Arts Festival brings together a host of international and local performances for children, hoping to educate Egyptian children through theatre, song and storytelling.

The featured acts include ‘The Chamber of Secrets’ by Marina Girgis, ‘Forgotten Tale.. Animals’ Lawsuit Against Humanity’ by ACT; and ‘Sohbet Al-Semsemya’. These will be joined by ‘Stories on Four Wheels’, Misr El Kheir’s mobile library, the choir of the Association of Upper Egypt for Education and Development, the Al-Nour Wi Al-Amal Orchestra for blind female musicians, and special theatre activities targeting young autistic children.
