Japanese Film Festival Returns To Cairo

Japan is planning to invade Egypt in February. Relax there is no need to refer to your military training or volunteer, as Japanese Film Week will once again be landing at the Artistic Creativity Center located at the Cairo Opera House.

Starting from February 15th and running through until the 19th, a variety of Japanese films ranging from romance, social, sport and animated films will be showcased at this annual event. This year’s theme is set to inspire all in attendance as all the films revolve around ‘Renewed Hopes.’

To excite Egyptian lovers of cinema further, all the films that will be presented will mark the first time they have been screened in Egypt and will be accompanied by both Arabic and English Subtitles. Making their Egyptian premier are films like Tomorrow’s Joe, Hanamizuki, Colorful, Kamome Diner and Feel the Wind, among others.

In effort to make the festival more engaging and interactive, discussions will be taking place after some of the films, encouraging all to converse on the film and its subject matter.
