Liwan Gallery Hosts Photo Exhibit Showcasing 1850s-1950s Egypt

Between the 1850s and the 1950s, Egypt underwent a transformative century, going from a khedivate of the Ottoman Empire to becoming occupied by the British Empire until a revolution turned the Kingdom of Egypt into the Republic we know today. In this eye-opening exhibition at Liwan Gallery dubbed 'Egyptian Features', we get a glimpse of contemporary life at the time through a series of snapshots by Egyptian and foreign photographers, capturing the everyday man and woman of Egypt while the country shifted and reformed around them.

'Egyptian Features' will run from April 3rd to May 12th at 23 Hassan Assem St. in Zamalek, and will be open daily from 11 AM to 8 PM except on Fridays.
