Maii Waleed And Zeid Will Be Creating Some Alternative Dreams At The CJC Tonight

Craving novel music and a refresh of your musical memory? Maii and Zeid might just have the cure at the Cairo Jazz Club’s Alt Tuesday tonight

Staff Writer

Alluring us into the subtle undertones of what is around and within us, Alexandrian Maii Waleed does wonders with her smoothly flowing, wavy voice, that melts in soothing unison with the musical composition of Lebanese underground musician Zeid Hamdan.

Zeid Hamdan, who has previously worked with Yasmin Hamdan in Lebanese band Soap Kills, Zeid and the Wings, as well as others, opens the heart of the listener to wandering music that some might easily feel is warmly psychedelic and nostalgically intimate. The Lebanese underground composer, now kicking some truly unique tunes with soft-voiced Maii Waleed will be playing alongside the singer at the Cairo Jazz Club tonight in a show that should not be missed.

Gracing Egypt's alternative scene, changing what the Middle East hears and how is listens, Hamdan's variations of hip-hop including trip hop, Arabic electro pop,New Arabic pop and Arabic electro are all strands with which the composer is reweaving Egypt and the Middle East’s musical scene

The Cairo Jazz Club is inviting us to a night of musical magic that surely should not be missed.
