MediaHub Launches Egyptian Short Film Competition

MediaHub is putting out an open call for Egyptian creators to submit short film scripts.

Cairo Scene

Award-winning agency, MediaHub, is carrying out an open call inviting Egypt’s young screenwriters, directors, and cinematic visionaries to participate in its first-ever cycle of short feature film productions by submitting film scripts for the company to produce.

Egypt is flowing with creative minds, and has historically been a regional leader in the film industry, so it’s high time that young talents get a chance to showcase their scripted imaginations.

MediaHub’s specialised committee will evaluate and select the films they wish to actualise and feature, as long as they meet a few conditions: that the participants be Egyptian (since this is, afterall, about exhibiting local excellence), that the script must be original, that the film’s duration doesn’t extend beyond 15 minutes, and that each person only submits a maximum of one script.

With selected films set to be announced for production in October 2021, hopeful filmmakers should circle their calendars and work on their Oscar-winning scripts before the submission deadline on August 10th.
