New 'People's Cinema' Campaign to Screen Local Films at Cultural Sites

The Ministry of Culture’s ‘People’s Cinema’ project is looking to make Egypt’s contemporary and innovative films as accessible as possible by hosting inexpensive screenings at cultural sites.

Starting on the first day of Eid El Fitr, the initiative will exhibit short documentaries and fictional films like Ahmed Helmy’s upcoming movie, ‘Wahed Tani’, at Al-Anfushi Culture Palace in Alexandria and Al-Bahr Al-Adham Library in Giza. Visitors will be able to buy a ticket for just EGP 40.

During the second phase of the project, the screenings will take place in four more governorates: Kafr El-Desouq Sheikh's Culture Palace, Matrouh's Siwa Culture Palace Cinema, the New Valley's Hibs Cinema, and Sharm El Sheikh's Culture Palace.
