Port Said Book Fair Opens Its Doors on September 6th

The Port Said Book Fair is set to take place in front of the Sharq District headquarters until September 17th, as part of an initiative to make books as cheap and accessible as possible across Egypt.

As part of the General Egyptian Book Organisation’s ‘Your Culture is Your Book’ initiative, Port Said will see the opening of the fourth edition of the Port Said Book Fair on September 6th. The fair is set to take place in front of the Sharq District headquarters until September 17th.

The ‘Your Culture is Your Book’ initiative - which launched during the 52nd edition of the Cairo International Book Fair - looks to make reading accessible to all by organising and promoting book fairs across Egypt. The General Egyptian Book Organisation uses these fairs to sell books at prices as low as EGP 5 to EGP 20, while taking the opportunity to raise awareness of various social issues.
