The Ministry of Culture has announced the first details of the 29th edition of the Salah El-Din Citadel International Festival for Music, following last year’s hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions. Organised by Cairo Opera House in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the festival is set to include 31 diverse performances, with the likes of Hany Shaker, Ali El Haggar, Hisham Abbas, Hala Roushdy and Nesma Mahgoub among the highlights, as well as a presentation of Chinese folk music.

The Salah El-Din Citadel Festival of Music has been one of the country’s most notable musical events since its inception in 1990, its line-ups offering a uniquely eclectic mix of both classic and contemporary, local and international. This year’s edition will begin on Sunday, August 15th, and go on for 16 consecutive days until Monday, August 30th.
