Sawiris Foundation Announces New Children's Book Awards

The Sawiris Foundation has announced a new category in their annual Sawiris Cultural Awards for children’s book authors, entitled ‘Best Book for Children Under 12 Years’. Proposed by writer Fatima Al Ma’doul, the category is meant to celebrate works that educate and empower the youth.


The annual awards have been held every year since 2005, and gives out cash prizes for those remarkable Egyptian creatives worthy of recognition. Their jury members include some of our country’s best writers, cinematographers, playwrights, critics, and professors.


The door to apply for the award, and all their other categories, is now open and will close on September 11th. Their other awards include Best Novel and Short Story Collection (Adults), Translation, Best Screenplay, Best Playwriting, and Literary Criticism and Non-fiction.
