The Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre is Going Virtual

Interpretive dance, flashy jazz hands and high, taut emotion. The theatrical and trippy realm of Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre is making its interwebs debut for a virtual edition this year. Organised under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, all the pizzazz and glory of the festival is being moved online in order to maintain safety and social distancing regulations - even with a lot of the country loosening its COVID-19 regulations, there are some circumstances where it's simply better to be safe than sorry. So rather than being eternally postponed (or straight up cancelled!) like many other art and culture events this year, the festival took its innovative spirit and decided that the show must go on - even if it's on YouTube Live.

The festival will run from the 1st until the 11th of September, with an August 10th deadline for performers and participants to apply.
