This Project is Fighting Discrimination and Challenging Colourist Beauty Standards in Egypt

Racial discrimination is a phenomenon that sadly exists everywhere and Egypt is no different. Despite being a country of many colours, some are still viewed in a negative light here, but this photography project is looking to change that. Henar Sherif and Adel Essam, founders of O-Art-Studio, launched Project No Colour with the aim of tackling the discrimination faced by black women in Egypt.

The commendable project features 10 women who share their stories, and encourages others to do so in order to spark a dialogue and change society’s perception of those who are considered different.
