Wahda Gedida, an initiative built by Victory Link to tell the stories of successful women, is set to release a book that celebrates 11 inspiring Egyptian women including Youssra, Azza Fahmy, and Aneesa Hassouna.

The homegrown initiative has empowered many Arab and Egyptian women through their storytelling on social media, as well as their award ceremonies celebrating these women’s success stories. However, Wahda Gedida decided to take a different approach with the launch of their new book, which has been purposefully kept untitled to give themselves, and by extension other women, space to grow. They plan on releasing new editions of this book every year, celebrating more women across a number of fields and careers each time.

Wahda Gedida’s first book is penned by Egyptian writer and novelist Mustafa Obeid, who has published 21 books across a spectrum of genres and fields. He won the Best Translated Book Award at the Cairo International Fair 2021 for ‘The Memoirs of Thomas Russell Hakamdar’, and is also a four-time winner of the the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate award.

The book signing is scheduled to take place this Thursday, June 23rd at noon in at Consoleya, Bab El Louk.
