Egypt's Agricultural Exports Exceed 5.6 Million Tons for First Time

Between January 1st, 2021, and December 31st, 2021, Egypt's agricultural exports include 1.8 million tons of citrus fruits, 650,340 tons of fodder beet, and 614,424 tons of potatoes.

Egypt's Agricultural Exports Exceed 5.6 Million Tons for First Time

For the first time, agricultural exports out of Egypt has risen over 5.6 million tons in 2021 - a 486,768 ton increase over 2020. The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation released a report that emphasized that Egypt never managed figures like these even before the COVID-19 pandemic, and attributed the unprecedented numbers to the work of quarantined plant workers operating around the clock to facilitate export procedures.


Between January 1st, 2021, and December 31st, 2021, Egypt's agricultural exports include 1.8 million tons of citrus fruits, 650,340 tons of fodder beet, and 614,424 tons of potatoes.


Egyptian farmers have also exported 276,141 tons of onions, 143,250 tons of grapes, and 113,598 tons of sweet potatoes.


Other exports include pomegranates (86,629 tons), mangoes (38,132 tons), strawberrys (35,538 tons), beans (28,565 tons), garlic (19,193 tons), guava (16,887 tons), watermelons (9,474 tons) and peppers (8,590 tons).
