Egypt's Cabinet Approves Implementing Electronic Visa in May
Tourists will soon be able to print Egypt's visa from home.

On Wednesday, Egypt's Cabinet approved the proposed electronic visa project to be ready for implementation in May.
The aim of the project is to update the passport and immigration system to be aligned with the upgrades made to the passport system around the world. At the press conference, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Yasser al-Qady, explained that the change is expected to widely ease the burden placed on security authorities and tourists visiting Egypt.
The new change will allow tourists to apply for their visa online using a barcode they will receive. After the request is approved by Egyptian authorities a copy of the visa will be sent to them electronically.
