Egyptian financial services company, EFG Hermes, has announced that it has agreed a new strategic cloud partnership that will not only accelerate the firm’s own digital transformation, but subsequently also have an impact on the wider financial services industry in the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia regions, where EFG Hermes operates.

On the part of EFG Hermes, the company hopes that the partnership will impact its IT environment with a view to enhancing its customer, employee and developer experience.

“The partnership with Microsoft comes at a time where we are looking to further cement our commitment to sustainability as we invest more in cloud-based solutions that help us achieve cost-efficiency, therefore enhancing scalability as part of our drive to digital transformation,” said Mohamed Wakeel, Group COO at EFG Hermes. “This collaboration will also enable us to ensure increased competitiveness, business resilience and innovation, whether it is to expand global reach, reduce time to market, create agility, lead with customer-centricity and make data-informed decisions.”

Since launching in 1984, EFG Hermes has evolved into a leading financial services company in frontier emerging markets, with its presence spanning across 13 countries in four continents.
