Egyptian Businessman to Buy Premier League's Burnley FC for EUR 200 Million

After a year of financial struggle, and a year of searching for a new owner to sell the club to, Burnley FC may have found their man in Mohamed El Kashashy, along with his British business associate Chris Farnell.

Liverpool. Aston Villa. Arsenal. Egyptians have been making tracks throughout England's Premier League, but we've got to be honest. We didn't expect to see Premier League's Burnley FC pop up on our radar - and especially not on the end of a EUR 200 million deal from an Egyptian businessman! After a year of financial struggle, and a year of searching for a new owner to sell the club to, Burnley FC may have found their man in Mohamed El Kashashy, along with his British business associate Chris Farnell.

Mohamed El Kashashy is a food and leisure magnate who held senior roles at major corporations like Coca-Cola, McKinsey and Proctor & Gamble, and is the chariman and founder of Think Food, which operates a number of restaurant franchises across the region.

This development is just the latest in an on-going saga, with Burnley FC having previously been in talks with American sports investment firm ALK Capital. The club is currently the third bottom team in the Premier League, although that might just change if this deal goes through.
